On Friday October 4th Kerdon Alpaca took four young animals down to Early Impressions Learning Centre in Botany Auckland to show the young city children an alpaca. This is the Daycare where their beautiful young grandson goes to.The childrens ages ranged from infants to five years and they all loved the interaction with the alpaca. Dante, Serafina, Piet and Fiorella were all on their very best behaviour and a great time was had by all. Back in SeptemberI entered two Alpaca Fibre Art pieces into the 2013 Gilmore Brown Kaipara District Art Awards. I  didn't win anything but was so pleased that Alpaca fibre was accepted as an art medium. The pieces were on display, with all the other art,  at the Matakohe Kauri Museum for just on a month and I was delighted to find that one of my pieces sold while on Exhibition.

Kerdon Alpaca were delighted to have fleeces win ribbons at the AANZ International Fleece Show 2013. They gained a Championship and three other ribbon placings. Please see Show Results for details.

Our first cria born on our farm Annie Catherine. A very happy day but also somewhat sad as she was born as we were farewelling my beloved mother from this earth. We got back after the funeral service and here in the paddock was our cria. Twenty days early and unexpected, but wonderful.
